My newly bought Olympia Cordless phone has no Lcd display, what should i do?

I've followed the manual instructions and charged the phone for 14 hrs before use.. and even when the phone base station rings, i still see no lights or alert in the phone itself... and when i lift the phone from its base station, i can't hear a dial tone..hope someone can help on this..thanks..
