What frugal habits have we learned from the Great Recession?

I, for one remember stories from relatives of the Great Depression. Save your money. Only buy what you need not what you want. Turn off the lights, TV, DVD, any electric device when not in a room or not home. Use M Transit if you can instead of driving. Do not borrow money or take out a loan. Eat less. Cook for yourself. Stop trying to keep up with the Joneses because the Jones Family is broke and does not want to show it so they spend money and buy fancy things to act as a facade.
